Thalia Olvino, Marketing student, passed 23 contestants to win the 1/8 evening in Caracas.
Thalia Olvino – Delta Amacuro state representative – received the crown from her predecessor Isabella Rodríguez at the competition finale. New Miss will represent Venezuela – an American country – competing at Miss Universe 2019 held later this year.
Thalia Olvino’s full name Lulyana Thalia Olvino Torres. At college, she joined team swim club. The beauty said to step into modeling to try and find opportunities to work in the entertainment industry.
Miss Venezuela – first held in 1952 – is an annual beauty contest with the aim of selecting beauty pageants to compete internationally. The American nation is rated as a beauty power with seven Miss Universe, six Miss World, eight Miss International and two Miss Earth. Gabriela Isler is the nearest representative of Venezuela crowned Miss Universe in 2013.
In recent years, the competition has been criticized by many Venezuelans. According to ABS-CBN, the country’s public said the organizers were too focused on external beauty and lowered women’s talents and intellect. From Miss Venezuela 2019, the contest stopped revealing the body measurements of the contestants. The organizers said that the publicity of the measurements caused many candidates to follow the diet, harsh training or plastic surgery to achieve a standard shape of 90 – 60 – 90 cm. In March 2018, many Miss Venezuela candidates accused each other of sex trading and received money from businessmen and government officials.
On the other hand, a girl who is fluent in five crowned languages Miss England. That is Bhasha Mukherjee, 23, was born in India and is currently a doctor and model in the UK. Bhasha Mukherjee crowned Miss England on the finale held in Newcastle on August 2. The beautiful 23-year-old will represent the host country of England competing at Miss World 2019 held in December.
